The 2010 Watchable Wildlife Conference Kearney, Nebraska, October 5-7, 2010
Kearney is truly "the heartland of America." Located directly in the nation's center, this community of 30,000 and its surrounding area offer visitors images of the Midwest that have been long lost in other regions. The agricultural history of this area can be seen in the picturesque farm settings that dot the landscape on the thousands of miles of country roads. Abandoned barns and windmills have provided photographers with a rich canvas to create award-winning pictures.
Nebraska, in the heart of the Great Plains, offers a variety of landscapes, as well as plant and animal diversity. The area has been the site to the Rivers & Wildlife Festival for over 35 years, making it one of the oldest wildlife celebrations in the country. Within a short drive, conference attendees will experience places where plant and wildlife communities from different regions meet. Timbered river courses, sandhill dunes, pine forests and mixed grass prairies all combine to offer some of the best wildlife viewing opportunities in North America. All our conference meetings will be held at the Kearney Holiday Inn & Conference Center. Excellent meeting facilities, great food, and comfortable, affordable rooms, will help make this a rewarding and fun location. We look forward to welcoming you to the 19th Watchable Wildlife Conference.
