In 1990 eight
federal agencies and five wildlife nonprofits signed a
Memorandum of
Understanding (MOU) to provide a
framework for cooperative activities necessary to develop,
implement, maintain and enhance a Watchable Wildlife Program on
federal and state lands and to assist private landowners.
Today Watchable Wildlife Inc. is an independent 501 C 3 wildlife
nonprofit. However our relationship with our original federal
partners remains as the cornerstone for our programs. Our new MOU
has been written and approved and is currently working its way
through the signatory process. The original group of eight has grown
to thirteen and includes the following agencies and departments,
pending the final approval process.
